Ready El Paso – The Site for National Preparedness Month

Do El Pasoans need to be prepared for disasters and other possible emergencies? Absolutely! On this page you will find information about the many free and low-cost activities during the month of September.

We encourage you to take advantage of these public briefing sessions, information booths and formal training, to better prepare your family, business or organization for any emergency you may face.

Throughout this campaign, the Red Cross is encouraging individuals to:

  • Make a Plan – Pick two places to meet (one near right outside the home and one outside of the neighborhood), develop an emergency communication plan, and prepare a family emergency contact list.

  • Build a Disaster Supplies Kit – Gather enough emergency supplies for you and your family for at least three days. Store the supplies in an easy-to-carry, water resistant container. It’s also a good idea to keep a smaller kit in the trunk of your car.
