Welcome to the American Red Cross El Paso Area Chapter

The American Red Cross is not a government agency nor do we receive financial support from federal, state or local governments. We rely solely on the generosity of the private and business sectors to support Red Cross services rendered to the people of our jurisdiction. Proudly serving El Paso, Hudsbeth, and Culberson counties.

The El Paso Area Chapter has been serving the local area since 1911. Our volunteers, paid staff, and board leadership continue the proud tradition of helping our El Paso neighbors prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. In keeping up with the new and unsettling world of nonspecific terrorist threats and heightened military alerts, the El Paso Area Chapter of the American Red Cross is participating in a nationwide chapter initiative Together We Prepare. This exciting new initiative emphasizes five simple, proactive actions that each individual and every family can take to be better prepared for whatever may come. These actions are Volunteer, Get Trained, Make A Plan, Build A Kit and Give Blood. Our trained and dedicated volunteers and paid staff are reaching out into the community every day to implement this campaign and touching peoples lives in a variety of ways:

  • The El Paso Red Cross' Disaster Services respond to families who have lost their home to a fire by providing food, clothing, temporary shelter, rent or relocation assistance, critical medications, and crises counseling. If families are forced to temporarily evacuate their neighborhood due to a hazardous material spill, gas leak, or other unsafe situation, Red Cross disaster volunteers provide a safe and protected shelter until the families can return to their homes.
